Abstract

Diagnosing multi-stage diseases typically requires doctors to consider multiple data sources, including clinical symptoms, physical signs, biochemical test results, imaging findings, pathological examination data, and even genetic data. When applying machine learning modeling to predict and diagnose multi-stage diseases, several challenges need to be addressed. Firstly, the model needs to handle multimodal data, as the data used by doctors for diagnosis includes image data, natural language data, and structured data. Secondly, privacy of patients' data needs to be protected, as these data contain the most sensitive and private information. Lastly, considering the practicality of the model, the computational requirements should not be too high. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving federated deep learning diagnostic method for multi-stage diseases. This method improves the forward and backward propagation processes of deep neural network modeling algorithms and introduces a homomorphic encryption step to design a federated modeling algorithm without the need for an arbiter. It also utilizes dedicated integrated circuits to implement the hardware Paillier algorithm, providing accelerated support for homomorphic encryption in modeling. Finally, this paper designs and conducts experiments to evaluate the proposed solution. The experimental results show that in privacy-preserving federated deep learning diagnostic modeling, the method in this paper achieves the same modeling performance as ordinary modeling without privacy protection, and has higher modeling speed compared to similar algorithms. Abstract

Nine new highly oxygenated meroterpenoids, peniciacetals A-I (1-9), along with five known analogues (10-14) were isolated from the mangrove-derived fungus Penicillium sp. HLLG-122 based on the guidance of molecular networking and OSMAC approach. Peniciacetals A-B (1-2) were characterized with a unique 6/6/6/6/5 pentacyclic system possessing an unusual 4,6-dimethyl-2,5-dioxohexahydro-6-carboxy-4H-furo[2,3-b]pyran moiety. Peniciacetals C-D (3-4) possessed an uncommon 3,6-dimethyldihydro-4H-furo[2,3-b]pyran-2,5-dione unit with 6/6/6/5/6 fused pentacyclic skeleton. The structures and absolute configurations of new compounds were elucidated by HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data, X-ray diffraction analysis, and quantum chemical electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculation. 8. Energy efficiency in reliable cooperative communications with retransmissions

Abstract

Although some works have been done for energy efficiency in cooperative communications, most of them don't consider reliable cooperative communications. However, reliable cooperative communications require re-transmissions, which will increase energy consumption. In this paper, instead of being interested in outage behavior and error analysis, we investigate the energy efficiency of reliable decode-and-forward cooperative communications in terms of a metric of bits per unit energy. Our analytical results reveal that the energy efficiency in reliable cooperative communications is concave with regard to the power level and the power ratio of the source to the relay, which determine the energy efficiency jointly. The processing energy at the receiver does not affect the concave relationship. These results may lead to the design of optimal power assignment and relay selection schemes.
